Engaged Citizens of Hillsborough County (ECHC) is a grassroots organization based in Amherst NH. We help residents of the county understand local and state issues and discover civic engagement opportunities that resonate with them and suit their interests and availability. We are unaffiliated with any political party or other organization.
We launched this website late June 2026. Content will be updated frequently to support voters in the midterm elections, then local elections, and beyond.
Being an engaged citizen and ensuring elected officials properly represent our local, state, and federal interests is harder than it should be.
Partisan media outlets, the scarcity of community news organizations, polarization and a lack of transparency about elected officials, candidates, elections and legislation make it increasingly hard to separate fact from spin and hold elected leaders properly accountable for their performance. And busy lives and existing obligations make it hard to find the time to sift through it all to understand the issues and determine how to engage effectively.
ECHC curates key information from credible sources and makes it easier to find and digest. We help residents of our county engage, vote and advocate in an informed way and make their voices heard on matters of key importance in our communities.
While we strongly encourage all residents and citizens to advocate for and support what matters to them and assist them in doing so effectively, ECHC itself is non-partisan and stands apart from the individual advocacy positions of its members.
